Sheriff Statement on Fallon RV Fatal Fire
The State Fire Marshall is investigating the Sunday morning fire at the Fallon RV park that claimed the life of one victim.

Author: Ginny Bragg

During the early morning hours on June 27th, a 911 call was received by the Churchill County Sheriff’s Office regarding a fire with explosions at the Fallon RV Park, 5787 Reno Highway, Fallon, Nevada. Upon arrival, a motorhome was found to be fully engulfed in flame, the owner and resident of the R.V. were unaccounted for and could not be located.

Upon the fire being extinguished, human remains were discovered inside the burned hull of the R.V., these remains were sent to the Washoe County Medical Examiner’s Office to assist us in obtaining a positive identification and cause of death. The fire is being investigated by the State of Nevada Fire Marshall in conjunction with our local Fire Marshall, any details of their investigation findings will be released by those agencies.

At this time we have spoken with the family of the resident of that R.V. and let them know about the fire and the ongoing investigation. However until the identity of the decedent can be established the next of kin cannot be officially notified, we understand this is very hard for those involved and the family waiting for identification and we sympathize with that however we cannot release a name without confirmation. We appreciate your patience in this matter.
