Due to the recent fire at the Transfer Station located on Enterprise Way off Indian Lakes Road behind Rattlesnake Hill, the temporary waste disposal location is at 327 North Maine and will remain open seven days a week from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
According to Brian Byrd, Public Works director, with no temporary scales available, customers will be charged $5 for each load. Cash or check are the only allowable payment methods.
The facility is currently not receiving burn barrels or scrap metal, however, recycling bins will be available during the week of July 5.
As soon as the City of Fallon is able to provide an update regarding the reopening of the Transfer Station, The Fallon Post will make the information available on the website and social media.
