Fire Department Rookies Graduate to "Yellow Hats"

The Fallon Churchill Fire Department, FCFD, recently graduated six rookies into active members of the Fire Department, officially making them “Yellow Hats.”  “These candidates have persevered in extremely unorthodox times of pandemic, showing they have the will, drive, and intestinal fortitude to protect the life and property of Fallon and Churchill County,” wrote FCFD in a recent Facebook article.

According to Chief Jared Dooley, the mission of the Fallon/Churchill Fire Department is to eliminate death and injuries from fire, protect from fire loss, provide necessary life support services, and preserve the quality of life for those it protects. But, as most of the community members know, FCFD operates far beyond the formal mission statement and serves an area (Churchill County) larger than Jamaica or Hong Kong, and the U.S. states of Delaware and Rhode Island. They also boast an impressive ISO1 Rating - the highest possible rating earned by a fire department.

These Yellow Hats are now active members of our very own Fallon-Churchill Fire Department. The community, candidates, families, and current members are very proud of them, and grateful.
