Tenth Judicial District Court convened on April 12, 2021, with Judge Thomas Stockard presiding.
Henry Lee Andrews (in custody) appeared for sentencing on a charge of Failure to Register as a Sex Offender, a Category D Felony that is punishable by 1-5 years in prison and for and a probation violation after having a “meth pipe” on his person at the time of his arrest on the first charge. Andrews is said to be homeless and struggling to register due to the circumstances. Judge Stockard revoked his probation and sentenced Andrews to 15-22 months in prison on his underlying charge, and 364 days in jail for failing to register.
Clifton Jay Caffero (in custody) pled guilty to technical parole violations. Caffero failed to comply with the terms of his probation and stated that he has been struggling with the structure probation requires. Chief Deputy District Attorney (DA) Lane Mills said that that the State is considering two separate violations. Mills asked that the court hold Caffero accountable for his actions; that he needs to do better and perform a perfect probation program. Judge Stockard temporarily revoked his probation and sanctioned Caffero to 30 days.
Shoshone Mandisa-Luana Campbell (in custody) appeared for sentencing on a charge of Failing to Appear and Absconding from law enforcement while on probation. Campbell stated that she was hiding at her grandmother's house to avoid drama with her child’s father and she had used methamphetamines to help her stay awake while she was helping a friend out. DA Mills requested that Campbell's probation be revoked. According to the allegations, on July 23rd at 890 Williams Avenue, Campbell sold 17.2 grams of methamphetamines to a cooperating source. She was arrested by the Task Force on charges of selling narcotics/other drugs and conspiracy to violate the controlled substance act and subject to a sentencing enhancement for being near a school. Stockard revoked Campbell’s probation and imposed the underlying sentence of 24-60 months in prison.
Tyler Rex Fisher (in custody) was sentenced on two charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance, a First or Second Offense, Category E Felonies, punishable by 1-4 years in prison on each count. He received probation on suspended prison sentences of 19-74 months and 12-32 months to run concurrently and received credit for 106 days of credit time served. Fisher was accepted into the Crossroads Program substance abuse treatment program pending his release.
Joseph Morgan Joos entered a plea of guilty for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender, a Category D Felony, which carries potential penalties of 1-5 years in prison. Churchill County Public Defender Jacob Sommer stated that his client did fail to notify the police department of his address. Sentencing is set for July 13.
Paul Lee Jr (in custody) pled guilty to Failure to Register as a Sex Offender, Category D Felony, which carries potential penalties of 1-5 years in prison. The allegation stated that Lee was homeless and unable to provide a registration address to law enforcement, therefore violating the registry requirements. Lee believes he has gainful employment waiting for him upon release and did request a change in custodial status, which was granted. Lee is scheduled for sentencing on July 13 at 9:30 am.
Christopher Brandon Rosemann (in custody) was sentenced on a charge of Battery that Constitutes Domestic Violence with a Prior Felony Conviction for Domestic Violence, a Category D Felony, punishable by 1-6 years in prison. Rosemann was sentenced to 24-60 months in prison.
