County Increases Test Days At Fairgrounds -- Testing is Free
Free community COVID testing will be held at the fairgrounds five days a week, beginning December 1st

To meet the needs from this community for asymptomatic COVID testing and to provide a variety of testing hours, Churchill County will increase its testing efforts at the fairgrounds to Monday through Friday for the month of December.

Starting on Dec. 1, testing dates and times at the fairgrounds for the general public will be:

  • Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays: 10:30 a.m. to noon (excluding Christmas)
  • Tuesdays and Thursdays: 4 to 5:30 p.m.

As always, testing at the fairgrounds is free to anyone wanting a test.

“We continue to urge people to pre-register and make an appointment by calling (775)423-6695, option 2,” said Shannon Ernst, social services director. Leave your name and number and staff will return the call to get you scheduled.

Tests performed at the fairgrounds are sent to the Nevada State Health Lab in Reno. Due to high caseload and demand at the State Health Lab, results usually take about a week to be returned to the county. Once test results are received at the county, staff calls every person tested to give them their results, whether positive or negative. If test results are positive, further resources and instructions are provided.

Current county test numbers may be found at: www.churchillcountynv.gov/covid-19 and are being updated several times a week, excluding weekends and holidays.

Can you please help me with this? Why the entire "haz mat" suit but no gloves?

Was there ever a Fallon Post newspaper?I’am fairly new to Fallon moving out here from California in 2017. I stumbled upon your site and very happy I did as it’s so informative. ??I was never able to know what was going on here, except from the local news, only reporting something bad had happened. We plan on calling the number to pre-register for the Covid testing. I would have never known it will be starting in Dec. Thank you!!Would you be interested in our input to “happenings “ in Fallon? Sometimes when we are out and about, we will notice something good, or not so good, and say, who do we report this to?Sincerely,Darline & Dave Teller5121 Vanessa DrFallon, NvEditor: Yes! We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
