Logos Christian Academy - Starting School Today

First Day of School

starts on Wednesday, August 19th at 8:05 AM. Students may start arriving at 7:45. There will be an opportunity for a “First Day of ” photo booth near the office area. Please park and walk your child in, if possible. Please do not park in front of the office or along the fence line (reserved for staff). When parking, please park so your car is facing away from the office building so no one needs to back out to leave. If you need to drop off, please do so along the fence line where the signs are.

People will be stationed at the gate and car drop off area to check temperatures of students. This will be the protocol this until it is no longer needed. Please do not leave the premises until your child has been screened. Thank you for your assistance with this!

Students should bring their school supplies (see the list you should have received from your child’s teacher), a water bottle, and lunch (including a snack). Students get out of school at 2:50 pm and must be picked up no later than 3:15 pm.

Important Paperwork Due Monday, August 24th

Please take a few minutes to complete the important papers sent out this week and return with your child(ren) by Monday, August 24th. The items include: Emergency Form, Covid 19 Waiver, Photo Permission, Student Directory/Email Contact, Playground Rules.

Air Sanitizer for Classrooms Fundraiser

We would like to be able to purchase air sanitizers for the various rooms around campus. The devices are $299 each and our goal is to be able to purchase 8-10 of them for the classrooms, office, library, and Lunch Hut. We are very grateful that we already have 4 donated! You can drop off donations in the school office, or each classroom will have a donation box through the end of August. If we exceed what is needed, we will put the remaining monies toward the portable handwashing stations that were purchased. Thank you for your generosity!

Student Absences

  1. year we will need to keep track of student absences specifically related to illness. Therefore, when you child is absent from school, please call the school office at 775-428-1825 and speak to Mrs. Mitchell. You may also e-mail the teacher, but a call to the school office is required. PreK Parents should call Mrs. Brandie at 775-217-6332.

We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
