I have received recommendations on biopics, long-form dramas, and teen romance shows to pass the time as I waste away my days during the phases of the Covid pandemic. It was during one of these endless days, that I realized there was programming designed perfectly for a pandemic, before we even knew it.

Hell’s Kitchen, with nine seasons available to stream on Hulu, is exactly the kind of pandemic programming we all need. Gordon Ramsey and ten chefs from around the world function as if they have to cook under dystopian pandemic conditions every night.

Episode one of the tenth season has everything our cooped-up families have been looking for.

The chefs live in extremely close quarters with one another, while sweating as much as they can into each other’s food and clothes. Similar to the thousands of Americans who spontaneously started making bread out of pandemic boredom, these contestants cook until they can no longer.

This show has all of the things you miss hating the most about being less than six feet away from someone. Plus, we all get to learn how to make the perfect seared scallops and beef wellington.

Hell’s Kitchen seasons 1, 10-18 are featured on Hulu.
