The Girl Who Reads on the Metro by Christine Feret-Fleury --
Juliette has a nice, if relatively uninspired, life in Paris. A nice apartment, a nice job, a string of kind of boring boyfriends. Her one joy comes in imagining stories about the people she sees on the metro based on the books they are reading.
Then one day she gets off before her stop and wanders into a house of books where she meets Soliman, and his young daughter Zaide. From them she learns to match books to readers using intuition and imagination. And her life takes a decided turn.
This book is delightful and a pure pleasure, particularly if you have a passion for books and ideas. And it’s available to download in ebook and eaudio from Overdrive/Libby on the library website at www.churchillcountylibrary.org.
