Juniors and Seniors Semester Starts August 8
Summer is coming to an end early for Oasis Juniors and Seniors. The college prep students will begin mini-session college classes on Monday, August 8 at the WNC campus.
Juniors are taking Introduction to Communications and Seniors are either taking Music Appreciation or Art Appreciation. All classes are degree requirements and assist students in furthering their progress toward an associate’s degree.
“Counselor Andy Lenon and I are very excited to get this year started with the three-week mini sessions for our Juniors and Seniors,” said Academic Advisor Lisa Swan. “These mini sessions allow Oasis students to just take four classes instead of five their first semester, which allows them time for their athletics and club participation. They are also a great way for our Juniors to see what a college class is like and the expectations of college classes before jumping into their fall semester.”
Each course is an intense three-weeklong class, and prepares the students for the rigor of the semester ahead. The regular fall semester will be the first term for juniors to experience a complete twelve-unit college course load.
