As part of Banner Churchill Community Hospital's celebration of Nurses Week’, Mayor Ken Tedford presented hospital nurses and nursing staff with a proclamation from the City of Fallon declaring Thursday, May 12 as Nurses’ Day.

After reading and presenting the beautifully mounted plaque, the mayor said, “On behalf of the city, thank you all for what you do here. Nurses perform in life-saving ways every day, and we all appreciate you.”

Nurses’ Day is celebrated every year on the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of nursing. May 12 is also the mayor’s birthday. After delivering the proclamation, he was presented with a bouquet and a birthday card.

A perfect dual celebration.
