Planning Commission May 12

Author: Jo Petteruti

The Planning Commission held the monthly public hearing Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. with an agenda filled with Temporary Use Permit (TUP) and Special Use Permit (SUP) applications.

The first three applications heard by the Commissioners were requests for TUP renewals, where the applicants needed additional time to complete their projects, and all three applications were unanimously approved. Next up was a SUP renewal, also requesting an extension of time, and it was approved as well.

Next, a tentative parceling plan was reviewed for an 80.64-acre parcel on Dillon Road being divided into 16 five-acre lots. The board approved the new parceling plan and referred the applicants to the County Commissioners for final approval at their meeting scheduled for Wednesday, May 19 at 1:15 p.m. More specific details regarding this project will be published next week.

Two new SUP requests were heard and both were unanimously approved. The first one was for an auto body shop with a paint booth and the second was for Yellow Petal Flower Farm. More details will be forthcoming on this new Fallon farm next week as well.

A zoning map amendment for a one-acre parcel on Marshall Drive was approved to switch the parcel to residential from commercial zoning. The map amendment and applicant were referred to the County Commissioners' June 3 meeting for final approval of the zone change. The board concluded by approving the termination of two TUPs and four SUPs.
