Great Basin Urgent Care – New Local Health Care

Great Basin Urgent Care – New Local Health Care
The Fallon Chamber held a ribbon-cutting for the newest member, Great Basin Urgent Care

Author: Ginny Bragg

The Fallon Chamber welcomed Great Basin Urgent Care, a new primary care and urgent care center on Commercial Way, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 5. Chris Sessions, a Physicians' Assistant (P.A.), said the company saw a need to bring an urgent care facility to Fallon to serve the local community.

The center will be open 10 hours per day on Monday through Friday, and for 8 hours on a Saturday. The actual open time will vary for now as they determine the needs of the community. If they find they need longer hours per day, they will extend them as well. This is the first Great Basin Urgent Care in rural Nevada and they plan to expand to other rural Nevada towns in the future. Sessions said they wanted to give the community more options than what is offered in town as of now.

Sessions said that labs and x-rays can be done in the office and patients can choose a specific PA for primary care if a particular one is preferred. This facility is also set up for asthma treatments and is equipped to administer Suboxone, a treatment used for opioid addiction.

Great Basin Urgent Care is set up for adults and children with a room for pediatrics and a bonus playroom off of the adult waiting room. Their address is 50 Commercial Way Fallon, NV and appointments can be made by calling 775-423-2222. More information can also be found on their website: https://www.gbucnv.com/

The staff of Great Basin Urgent Care consists of Chris Sessions P.A., Brent Kunzler P.A., David Cain P.A., Tim Farnsworth Medical Director/Consultant, Quennie Manuel who is in charge of the clinic along with Bridget Small. The front desk and back-office operations are run by Sophia Natividad and Yesenia Maldonado, respectively.
