This week, I stumbled upon a newly released al- bum by an artist I’ve never heard before. But my job is to try things, so you don’t have to. Doing my duty, I gave the entire album a good, objective listen. All I can say is, it is not for me. The music is not completely terrible, don’t get me wrong. However, it is of the modern generation. For those staying home all of the time, the music is extremely “bedroom pop” genre centered. While listening to this album, I got an image of a young person riding a bicycle in a suburb in a in- die movie. While that vivid image may not come up for everyone, I believe it explains the sound of the music on this album better than any other comparison I could scrap up. This album was made to listen to inside of a hipster coffee shop on a rainy street with yellow string or lights along the shrubs. If that is your bag, then you probably will enjoy this album immensely. But if not, I suffered for you.
